Pilgrimage
(Hajj) to Mecca has a special significance in Islam. Mecca is the holy
city where the first house of worship on earth The KABE is located and
also where the last meseenger of Allah (s.w.t.) Prophet Muhammad
(s.a.w.) was born. It is obligatory for all able Muslims from all over
the world to perform Hajj once in their lifetime, which takes place
annually, from the 8th to the 12th of the last month of the Islamic
lunar calendar. Besides Hajj, there is also another important pilgrimage
to Mecca, Umrah. Umrah can be performed at any time of the year. In
Arabic, the name of the pilgrimage means “to visit a populated place”
while in Sharia (the moral and religious law of Islam) it refers to
circling the Kaaba seven times in a counter-clockwise direction, a
performance named Tawaf.
In
the Islamic world, the Umrah is referred to as “the minor pilgrimage”,
whereas the Haj is considered “the major pilgrimage”.
The main difference between these two pilgrimages is that the Umrah is
not obligatory, while the Haj is.
In order to perform the two pilgrimages to Mecca and the visit to
Medine where the prophet is, Muslims around the world must use travel
agencies which have come up with multiple packages and options for Umrah
and Hajj. For example, you can choose a Hajj package from FATIH
HAJJ for 2014 Hajj starting at $6,250.00,with all major expenses
included. Usually, a Hajj package includes the Hajj Visa, trip airfare,
accommodation in Mecca and Medina, breakfast and dinner, the fees for
visits to historic sites in Mecca and Medina and others.
In
case you want to perform Umrah, the procedures are much simpler than in
Hajj, advantage of packages for Umrah is that they can be bought at any
time of the year, during the season you like the most. FATIH HAJJ
offers Umrah packages for the 2014 UMRAH season starting at only
$250.00, the prices for such packages vary a lot, according to
the season of the pilgrimage, the type of accommodation preferred,
number of travelers and the number of facilities included. All the
